Spring / Summer 2013 Short Hair Styles & Cuts: Emma Watson & Tilda Swinton

Greg Ruggeri, who works with EVO Products, loves the short hair trend for spring and summer 2011. Check out some of the celebrities who are currently rocking this look — it’s both edgy and soft at the same time, and you don’t need a lot of products to rock these hairstyles.

Soft & Edge Look

Here is a soft yet edgy look that is both feminine and strong. A true head turner. As Ruggeri says, “It’s perfect for a New York Gal who is wanting to not only push the envelope but also keep her soft New York girlie side.”

How to get the look:

It’s not too hard to maintain this hairstyle — all it needs is a volumizer like the Evo Root Canal or Shape Vixen, and then a blow-dryer with nozzle all over against the natural direction through top layers until root lift is achieved. When you’ve dried your hair to the point of satisfaction, then move and mould the hair into your desired shape. Smoothe out the front section for the final touch.

Edgy & Not So Soft: Tilda Swinton

If you have a strong hair color with lots of highlights, this look could work. This hairstyle has natural bends and curves, and you are recommended to use a curl enhancer for hold (Evo’s Liquid Rollers) and use a small amount (like the size of a quarter) to mould hair into the desired shape. Use a wide tooth comb and let it air dry for 10 minutes. Then very lightly (using Evo’s Box o Bollox) glide with fingers to create a shape that is most suited and flattering to your face shape. If a little damp still just allow to set. When 100% dry very lightly finger hair to separate the soft waves that have hopefully formed.

The Mia Farrow -inspired Crop: Emma Watson

This is by far one of our favorites and easiest hairstyles to replicate and maintain, but we do think there’s a face for it.

This Mia Farrow inspired crop is the perfect Summer hairstyle because it’s so low maintenance. Use a shine spray for a high gloss effect and use clay for something a little more matte. Also you can use a texture spray to create a tad more variation (use Evo’s Love Touch, Cassius Clay or Mister Fantastic.
