(Review, Swatches): Best Nail Polishes of Summer 2011

As a bonafide nail polish fiend, nothing excites me more than summer nail polish collections. This year, brands seemed to have taken different routes. While previous years we’ve seen the traditional neons and bright pinks, 2011 has brought about more subdued and neutral shades. Check out my picks for the best polishes of this summer.

I am in love with every one of the shades in this baby collection of 4 polishes. While they take on a bit of a Spring-y look, I think these will be perfect for summer. Need some extra flare? Grab your favorite crackle polish and apply a coat on top.

Zoya’s Touch Collection

Zoya Touch Collection Shay

Zoya Touch in “Shay”

I’ve got to give it up to Zoya. It’s hard to find good neutral nail polishes shades that can compliment women of all complexions. They’ve done it beautifully with the Touch collection. These full coverage nudes look stunning on women of all shades. Nude polishes are the season’s it colors. You’ll want to grab yourself one of two for good measure.

Deborah Lippman’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Very rarely can I wear a nail polish day after day without getting annoyed. Deborah Lippman’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun is an exception. This is the coral of all corals. Forget what you’ve heard about other corals. This one is by far the best shade of coral I’ve ever seen. The formula is also top-notch; something we’ve come to expect from Deborah Lippman’s polishes.

Chanel Mimosa

I don’t mean to be redundant considering I’ve already featured this gal but Chanel’s Mimosa definitely makes the Best Summer Polishes of 2011 list. It’s a gorgeous yellow polish from a luxurious brand. That says it all, darling.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

Sally Hansen Nail Strips

Waiting for your nails to dry after applying a color is like so totally…last year. These nail strips have been making a wave in the nail polish industry and Sally Hansen has some of the best designs. With all of the vacationing you’ll be doing this summer, be sure to grab 2 or 3 of this to take with you. They are perfect for traveling and are the perfect conversation starters.
