(Review & Swatches): Justin Bieber “One Less Lonely Girl” Nail Lacquers by OPI

One Less Lonely Nail

Tween pop sensation Justin Bieber, continues to dominate the airwaves, and now the business pages with his foray in a new business industry — beauty and cosmetics. Bieber recently launched a collection of Nicole by OPI ® nail polishes called One Less Lonely Girl collection. When it was first announced that Justin Bieber and OPI cobranded a nail polish many people, including myself, were puzzled. However, after putting on my business/marketing hat, I realized that a polish line was genius!

Justin Bieber I'm a Belieber

Why not develop a nail polish line and market it to tween and teenage girls who adore Bieber, and his music? The wonderful thing about the collection is that a portion of the sales benefits Pencils of Promise (PoP), a non-profit organization that builds schools in the developing world. Justin partnered with PoP to build 100 schools for children around the world.  The One Less Lonely Girl collection consists of 14 shades that vary in color, and personality. Several shades incorporate Bieber’s name in the title. I decided to review My Lifesaver, I’m a Belieber, Not a Gold Bigger, and Give Me the First Dance.

Whoever designed the bottles for Nicole by OPI polish did a great job. They’re ergonomic! The bottles are round, slightly smaller than the average polish bottle, but they fit comfortably in your hand. My favorite brand mark is the polish brush. It’s a short but wide enough to cover all nail sizes. The brush contours the shape of the nail when you apply polish, making it possible to apply the lacquer evenly.

My Lifesaver is a creamy, pastel mint green. It’s a great shade to wear during the spring and summer months. I enjoy wearing pastel shades because they can make anyone’s nails (or feet) look perfect. Pastels draw attention away from imperfections. I received several compliments on this color. I’m a Belieber is another cream shades that is mix of lavender and lapis. It’s a royal color but I feel like this shade has been done before by OPI for the Shrek collection.

Justin Bieber Not a GoldBigger

Justin Bieber Give Me the First Dance

Not a Gold Bigger and Give Me the First Dance are the superstars of the entire collection. Not a Gold Bigger Give Me the First Dance are metallic foil shades; one is gold, the other is silver. I usually don’t wear foil polishes because they have a tendency to look oil spills your nails. However, Not a Gold Bigger and Give Me the First Dance went on smooth and shine beautifully!

The polish formulation is great. The lacquers are creamy but not sticky. I achieved opaque coverage with two coats of polish.

The One Less Lonely Girl nail polish collection by Nicole by OPI and Justin Bieber offers a variety of fun, and colorful polishes that Bieber fans, and polish lovers will enjoy. The collection retails can be purchased at Wal-Mart and other designated OPI retailers.

  1. Beautiful colors. I love nail polish, but I’m not a Bieber fan. Sorry. But I would love to win some of the polish

  2. Not a bieber fan. I love nail polish, but these seem to really be about the same color as some others in their line. Not a gold digger seems a really close match to ceo.

  3. who’d a thought, boy teen sensation marketing nail polish? I’ll take it! The colors are absolutely scrumptious!

  4. Purple is one of my favorite colors. I love the Prized Possession Purple. I would definitely try any and all these colors. OPI rocks!
