Christie Brinkley THERMAL DETOX Warming Cleansing Mask, $49.00

Review, Ingredients, Skincare Trend 2017, 2018: Christie Brinkley Thermal Detox Warming Cleansing Mask, Pure Radiance Illuminating Facial Oil, Inlighten Spot Corrector & Brightening Serum + IR Defense

This intensive deep-cleansing, targeted heat-enhanced treatment was developed to “purify, nourish and leave skin feeling smooth.” Water activated, thermal cleansing claims to “purge pores and draw out deep impurities.” The formula heats on contact with water, “revitalizing dry, dull skin, as well as absorbing and removing toxins and debris.”

Ingredients include:
Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour – Natural Exfoliant
Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract – Natural Exfoliant
Diatomaceous Earth – Natural Exfoliant
Macadamia Seed Oil – Nutritive and hydrating
Jojoba Seed Oil – Biomimetic oil, similar to the lipids, or protective oils skin produces naturally. Acts as a moisturizer and emollient agent to improve skin elasticity and suppleness.
Borage Seed Oil – Protective and emollient omega-rich oil

I applied a thin coating of this product on clean, dry skin. In addition to a pleasant, oat-and-fruity fragrance, It went on rich, smooth and creamy—so far, so good. But unlike other masks, this product didn’t harden and dry out. Instead, when I stepped into the shower, the warm water activated the ingredients in the mask, and I felt a warm, slightly tingling sensation. I rinsed well and when I dried off, my face felt soft and supple, even without using a moisturizing or night cream. The effect was still apparent the next morning, and my skin looked smooth and luminous.

I loved the effect and luxurious spa-feel of the product. Not cheap, but definitely a worthwhile splurge.

Christie Brinkley PURE RADIANCE Illuminating Facial Oil, $49.00

Review, Ingredients, Skincare Trend 2017, 2018: Christie Brinkley Thermal Detox Warming Cleansing Mask, Pure Radiance Illuminating Facial Oil, Inlighten Spot Corrector & Brightening Serum + IR Defense

This product claims to be fast absorbing blend of restorative bio-mimetic omega oils that visibly support skin’s natural lipid barrier while helping to protect skin from aging and damage. The product has been formulated to address skin discoloration and signs of photo-aging. It’s also non-irritating and allergy tested and suited for all skin types.

Using the dropper, I warmed a few drops of the serum in my hands and then applied to my face. The immediate feeling was very oily, but it absorbed quickly and by morning, it had absorbed fully and my face was very smooth and soft. After a week of use, I didn’t notice any significant change in dark spots and sun damage (and I was a sun worshipper in the past, so I do have those issues now) but perhaps continued use would yield more visible results. Some products do specify a period of use before results are visible, but this one did not. I did feel, however, that the serum gave my skin a healthy glow, so I think it would be worth continued use.

Christie Brinkley INLIGHTEN Spot Corrector & Brightening Serum + IR Defense, $69.00

Review, Ingredients, Skincare Trend 2017, 2018: Christie Brinkley Thermal Detox Warming Cleansing Mask, Pure Radiance Illuminating Facial Oil, Inlighten Spot Corrector & Brightening Serum + IR Defense

This high performance serum us said to contain powerful brightening and dark spot targeting actives that diminish the look of hyper-pigmentation, uneven skin tone and sun damage. It also claims to firm, tone and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

The serum is formulated with Proprietary Bio-Copper Complex that is said to help correct the most visible signs of aging, and it targets dark spots, uneven skin tone and sun damage while promoting the natural production of collagen and elastin for firmer looking skin. It’s also non-irritating and allergy tested, and is suitable for all
skin types.

I used this product on its own for about a week. The formula is rich and luxurious—so rich, in fact, that it isn’t easily expelled from the dropper and I had to turn the bottle over to get it out. It had a slightly tacky feel going on, and even in the morning. But in even a short time, I did notice that some dark spots on my skin seemed lighter and less noticeable. Needless to say, I’m going to continue using the product and will be hoping for even more dramatic results.

Here is a photograph of all of the products swatched.
