Review: Obagi 360 3-Step System - How To Treat Dull, Uneven, Acne-Prone Complexions, Better Than Proactiv?

When it comes to skincare, I must admit: I am very picky with what I use on my face. I was diagnosed with adult acne 4 years ago, and while I have since been able to keep my skin regimen under control, I know that at any moment I can come under attack by blemishes and breakouts. I started using the Obagi 360 System about 5 weeks ago, and I have nothing but great things to say about this skincare set!

The set comes with an Exfoliating Cleanser, Retinol 0.5 Serum and the HydraFactor SPF 30 Moisturizer. Here’s why I LOVE each product:

Exfoliating Cleanser: This cleanser is one of the best I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried A LOT of skincare products). I love it for morning because the gentle beads serve as a pick-me-up during a nice, hot shower in the morning. But it’s great at night, too, because the beads are excellent at helping me get rid of all my makeup. Best of all, it’s formulated for all skin types. My skin tends to be oily in the T-Zone and dry under my eyes, but this cleanser has really seemed to balance my skin out.

Retinol 0.5 Serum: Oh, how I LOVE this magic potion! I’ve been using this 3-step system for a full 5 weeks now, so I can honestly say that I see real results at how evenly-toned my skin looks now. Full Disclosure: Prior to this, I was using a prescription Retin-A, but even after switching over to the Obagi formula, I’m still seeing prescription-strength results! I really love the applicator bottle this comes in, which dispenses just the right pearl-sized amount to be used only in the evenings. The reason why we should only use retinols in the evening is because it makes our skin more sensitive to the sun.

HydraFactor SPF 30 Moisturizer: Wow. I loved everything about this moisturizer! It’s lightweight, but hydrating. It’s also non greasy, but gives me the perfect glow. Best of all, it has SPF, which does not leave that dreaded white film on my skin that I’ve experienced with using other medical-strength sunscreens.

Overall, I have truly enjoyed using this system, and will be adding it to my daytime routine. I’ve used products that my dermatologist has recommended and other acne-specific skincare systems in the past, including Proactiv and Proactiv+, but now I will be switching over to the Obagi 360 System for good.

It’s a little more pricey at $140 for the set, but when you have breakout-prone skin like I do, it’s certainly worth it. I would pay top dollar to keep my skin clear! Each item in the Obagi 360 set comes in a large size. I’m only halfway through my bottles after 5 weeks, so I’m sure I can make it to 12 weeks with this set. When you think about it like that, the average cost equals out to about $12 per week. Totally worth every penny!
