With the Asian BB creams just becoming a common beauty household name here in the states, there seems to be a new does-it-all skincare/makeup cream in town: CC creams. CC creams, which stands for color control creams, is the next step in BB creams, promising to provide more coverage with the addition of even more skin-nourishing ingredients. Also developed in Korea, the CC cream is meant to be less oily than its BB counterpart: ensure better sun protection with a higher SPF; is a brightening primer; has a lighter texture when applied and is meant to leave a more natural looking finish to the skin.

As the BB cream has just made its Western addition premiere with brands such as L’Oréal (Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator) and Maybelline (Dream Fresh BB Cream) producing their own versions, the CC cream still remains popular in Asia… for now (Chanel has released its own CC cream that is available only in Asia). The only CC cream that seems to be available on the U.S. market right know comes from the brand Rachel K Cosmetics, whose cream and pressed powders are formulated with minerals, refining the original BB cream ingredients. According to the Rachel K Cosmetics Facebook page, CC creams seems to surpass BB creams across many categories including whitening effects, coverage, long-lasting benefits and stability. The CC creams may be hard to find now, but they might just be the next big thing in the cosmetic world.

With the addition of the CC cream in a BB cream world, will people be ready to jump on this makeup/skincare cosmetic hybrid bandwagon forever? Would you try the CC cream?
