Skincare Review, Ingredients: Origins Comfort Mood, Three Part Harmony Serum, Cream, Body Souffle Moisturizers

Origins is well known and respected for its natural and plant-based formulas. There are over 10 million species of plants on earth, and Origins has already discovered hundreds of plants with powerful skincare ingredients and properties. From their 100% natural essential oils to their potent plant actives, they unleash each ingredient’s unique power using…advanced science and earth-friendly practices. Products are purified and tested multiple times for safety and performance. And their plant ingredients come from renewable resources that help protect the earth and the environment. For all these reasons, I have long been a big fan of the line, and was eager to sample face and body products that were sent to me for review.

Origins Comfort Mood Whipped Vanilla Body Souffle, $33

This whipped, vanilla-scented body cream smells heavenly and is both light and luscious. I found it to be excellent for arms and legs, and it left my skin soft and fragrant. A real winner for the winter months, and great stocking stuffer too.

Origins Comfort Mood Ultra Rich Vanilla Body Butter, $36

This ultra-rich body butter is thicker and denser than the soufflé above. It’s also got a great vanilla scent, and was emollient enough to use on elbows, knees, hands and even feet. Another winter-winner from Origins.

Three Part Harmony Oil-infused Serum for Renewal, Repair and Radiance, $69

Said to aid in renewal and radiance, and formulated for all skin types, this new and unique “skin-quenching oil” is formulated with nourishing theobroma (cocoa seed) butter and natural lipids that help renew skin’s hydration levels. Tazetta lily bulbs and myrtle produce youthful supplies of natural collagen to visibly repair skin’s structure, and fine lines and wrinkles are “softened.” With omega-rich crambe oil, derived from the seeds of a Mediterranean plant, and scutellaira, or mint, it helps impart a healthy, vibrant glow and refines tone.

I used this serum (with the cream that is reviewed below) for a couple of weeks, morning and evening. I loved the faintly chocolate scent, and the light, super absorbent texture. I did not care for the dropper application though; I prefer the ease of a pump or tube. The product did not make any visible difference in the fine line/wrinkle department, though it did give my skin a lovely, healthy glow.

Three Part Harmony Nourishing Cream for Renewal, Repair and Radiance, $69

Best for renewal and radiance, and recommended for all skin types, this new, intensely rich cream is formulated with tazetta lily bulbs, white myrtle and Japanese knotweed. These ingredients help produce youthful supplies of natural collagen to…visibly repair skin’s structure. Fine lines and wrinkles are softened. In addition, deeply nourishing plant butters plus vitamin E, help renew skin’s hydration levels. And scutellaria, a plant in the mint family, is claimed to, “reveal radiance, refine tone and brighten skin, “imparting a “healthy, vibrant glow.”

I used this in conjunction with the serum above every night for about two weeks. At first, I found the texture a bit glue or paste like, but by morning, it had absorbed nicely and there was no sticky residue. Although I did not see any difference in terms of lines or wrinkles, I did like the product and felt it delivered in terms of softness and improved skin texture.
