Skincare Review, New Ingredients: Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream - 2013

Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream ($27.99) is a newly reformulated! Launched in January 2013, the new Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is designed to “accelerate the appearance of anti-aging” and includes two new anti-aging ingredients: olivem and lys’lastine. Both of these new ingredients claim to “help fight the look of skin fatigue and accelerate the appearance of anti-aging results,” by penetrating 10 layers deep into skin’s surface.”

Olay promises some pretty amazing results:

1 Day: Within 10 minutes, reduces the appearance of lines, boosts hydration & brightness

2 Weeks: Skin is noticeably firmer and skin elasticity is improved

4 Weeks: Reverses the look of up to 10 years of wrinkles

Well, sign me up! I used the product morning and evening for about three weeks. I liked the fresh, floral fragrance and the feel — light, yet rich — as well as how easily it absorbed into my skin. This is a yummy, nourishing cream that is light enough to use as a base under foundation/blush, but creamy enough for nighttime use.

After three or so weeks of use, my skin did feel revitalized; I can say that it seemed brighter, too. But what about the fine lines and wrinkles? Sadly enough, I did not notice any appreciable difference in that department. Ditto for the firmness. I would still recommend this product: it’s a good cream at a good price. It’s just not a fountain of youth. That’s all.
