Review, Photos, Swatches: Azature Black Diamond Nail Polish - The World's Most Expensive At $250,000

Did you know that there’s a new polish out there that contains 267-carats of black diamonds, and retails for $250,000?! Clearly catering to the one percent and billed as the most expensive polish in the world, it is the brainchild of legendary fine jeweler Azature, giving a new meaning to the phrase, “dripping in diamonds.”

I did not sample this product, but I did try the other, much more affordable polish that contains real black diamond and retails for $25.00. Packaged in a .5 oz/15ml diamond-shaped bottle, the Black Diamond Nail Polish is offered in Azature signature black and “coats on with a glittery sheen…” According to its maker, “The black diamond is the ultimate fine jewel. Its combination of beauty, mystery, and sophistication makes it a timeless luxury. One day, I thought, ‘Why not showcase this style on nails?’ So I developed a Black Diamond Nail Polish with the same attention and quality as my jewelry, in order to preserve the elegance of the black diamond.”

I used three coats of this polish and skipped the topcoat because I did not seem to need it. I like the subtle sparkle, as if the diamonds have been crushed and embedded in the polish. Though it looked black in the bottle, it went on as a deep, glittery gray. And it was durable too — even after several days, the polish looked fresh and chip-free. This color can add a real bump up to your daily look and will be great when we get into the holiday season. Bottom line: a keeper.
