Buxom Divine Goddess Luminizing Highlighter Palette | $32.00

This new trio of unique gel-to-powder highlighters claim to complement all skin tones and to deliver a radiant, sculpted glow.

Created in collaboration with Shay Mitchell, Buxom’s Global Creative Brand Ambassador, this palette features three shades: Venus (a shimmering champagne), Luna (a shimmering golden peach), and Athena (a shimmering bronze). They can be mixed directly on the skin for a custom glow. Dimensional pearls are suspended in a clear base that transforms from a gel to a powder.

I wasn’t at all familiar with such a product but was curious about the look they would create. I followed the directions, using a brush (fingertips are okay, too) to create an all-over, illuminated look. The product had an easy application – it glided smoothly onto my skin. It dried almost immediately to a nice, smooth finish, which gave it some longevity. I mixed two shades – Luna and Venus – and I really like the effect. It was glowing but also subtle. Come summer, I plan to use Athena to create the effect of a tan.

You can also use the product to accentuate certain features, like cheekbones, for a more dramatic effect. For maximum dimension, you can use a different shade for each area on the face you want to highlight. I tried this and I have to admit, it packed a lot of punch for a night out.

Bottom line: this newcomer has made a believer out of me! I’m keeping this one in my line-up.
