Best Hairstyle Trends, Looks NYFW Fall, Winter 2015, 2016: Low Slung Ponytails, Slick Blow-Outs

When the last thing on your mind is to spend mornings fussing over curls and intricate hairstyles, simple straight hair is an easy go-to! Every year the Fall/Winter shows display models walking down the runway sporting this style, but this year we’ve seen a twist. The sophisticated look had been played up by creating unique ponytails with embellishments, asymmetrical parts, wispy top-knots and more.

Ponytails will be everywhere this coming fall. Herve Leger took a spin on the classic low ponytail where TRESemme Hairstylist Orlando Pita stated, “For Herve Leger’s show we wanted there to be a toughness to the show but in a way that still felt quite natural and easy for our girl to wear away from the runway. The goal was for hair to “mimic the strong lines and prints in the collection.” Although it appears intricate, all you need for your own chic ponytail are a blow dryer, soft bristle brush, comb, bobby pins, hair pins and a thin elastic band. Pita used TRESemme Platinum Strength Shampoo and Conditioner, Runway Collection Get Sleek Blow Dry Balm and Platinum Strength Fortified Hold Hairspray.

Ted Gibson created a beautiful low ponytail for models at the Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2015 show. “This look is perfect for the girl who hasn’t had a shampoo in a couple of days…women are looking for ways to extend their blowout with styles that will keep them looking chic and fresh in between washes.” There’s nothing better than hair that has a lovely loose texture and flows effortlessly.

If a simpler ponytail is more your style, you can mimic the look created by Orlando Pita for the Diane Von Furstenberg show. An easy top knot can always be dressed up or dressed down with ease. “Even though it pulls back into a low bun it still feels very lived in and has a little attitude.”

In addition to ponytails, Monique Lhullier showcased another fall trend, where hair was blown out in a slick style. Her show was inspired by Kate Moss’ sensual edginess and the hair reflected just that. Recine for Moroccanoil applied Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse and Smoothing Lotion to damp hair, blow dried with the Ceramic Hair Dryer and straightened with the Hair Styling Iron. Lastly Recine created a side part and worked Smoothing Lotion through the hair and finished with a spritz of Luminous Hairspray and Glimmer Shine for a gleaming finish.
