Review, Before/After Photos: Carol's Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 Kit - Go From Relaxed To Natural Hair

I’ve been washing with Carol’s Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 Kit ($40.00) every week for about 5 weeks, and, I have to say, it’s really great stuff! The 3-step treatment is the first haircare treatment kit to uniquely address the most concerning problems women face when transitioning from relaxed to natural hair: product build-up, scarred scalp and breakage at demarcation points.

I have been on a hair journey to have completely natural hair since November 19, 2011 (day of my last relaxer). I decided that I would not cut off my relaxed ends until my natural hair grows to my desired length, therefore, I needed a product to strengthen my newly grown-out hair, while keeping my relaxed ends hydrated and soft.

Carol’s Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 Kit is a 3-step kit to help with your relaxed to natural hair transition:

Step One is the Purifying Low-Poo Cleanser. It removes all product buildup without leaving hair stripped of its natural oils; the cleanser definitely cleans your hair and leaves it soft.

Step Two is the Renewing Scalp Spray. It exfoliates the scalp and heals the damage done by relaxers. After using Step Two I noticed my hair at the scalp felt a little hard and brittle… almost like I used a protein treatment.

Step Three is the Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment. It conditions all of your hair, preventing the breakage of relaxed hair from the natural hair.

Once I rinsed the Renewing Scalp Spray (Step Two) out of my hair, I applied Step Three. Almost immediately my hair softened. After rinsing the Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment out of my hair, my hair became soft and extremely shiny — very easy to comb. The recipe for the perfect transition starts with the ingredients found in the products:

Biotin: A vitamin necessary for cell growth that promotes healthy hair

Soy Protein: Deeply conditions and adds strength for fewer breaks while washing

Sugarcane: Gently exfoliates the scalp to let healthier skin breathe

Vera Fruit: Helps heal the scalp to create a better environment for hair to grow

Olive Oil: Targets the most damaged parts of hair to strengthen and prevent breakage

Coconut: Instantly detangles hair while deeply moisturizing

Murumuru Seed Oil: Rich in oleic acid for supple, softer hair

As a result of using this product after 5 weeks my hair is still soft — no shedding — and easy to comb. Being that I still have permed ends, I was worried about them breaking off while transitioning. I’m really happy that it hydrates my natural roots and my permed ends. I also noticed that my curls (all newly grown) have also became more defined. I give the product 5 stars! I just wish there was only one step… for time’s sake.
