I had the great fortune of being invited to the launch event of Seven Haircare at the Eva Scrivo Salon in the Flatiron District of Manhatten.

I arrived at the salon to the Seven event excited to have my hair blown out, but did not know much about the brand. Seven is a salon that opened on the Seventh Avenue in Seattle and grew from a small salon with 9 stylists, to a thriving salon with over 60 employees.

Seven, the name of the brand, was based on the fact that the salon’s original address was on Seventh Avenue in Seattle. The Seven also stands for the seven shapes of the face which are oval, round, square, diamond, heart, pear, and oblong. The shape of your face can help determine your hairstyle.

The reason the products were created was because the stylists decided they wanted something different when it came to hair products. They were not fans of the products that other brands offered. They tended to not work as they would like and made the hair feel sticky and untouchable. To quote them, “We wanted touchable, luxurious, naturally three-dimensional hair. We wanted products that made our hair look and feel great!

I had my hair shampooed, conditioned, and blown out by Nick, a stylist at the event. He used the Seven products throughout the whole process of my experience! I am happy to admit, my hair turned our phenomenal! Not only did it turn out great, but the blow dry lasted 4 days, and it looked as good on the last day as it did on the first!

I received samples of some of their products and so far I have thoroughly enjoyed using them. The products are all sulfate free, paraben free, dye free, cruelty free, and are color safe. In lieu of using silicones, the ingredients include avocado oil, brazil nut, and coconut oil.

There are (you guessed it) 7 different lines of the product. They are:

  • Satara-Everyday Essentials
  • Gazar-Brilliant Shine
  • Armure-Restore & Repair
  • Borato-Volume & Lift
  • Cubica-Last & Layer
  • Kente-Brilliant Strength
  • Rinzu-Protect Your Color

So far, I have tried Diamond from the Gazar line. This provided great shine to my hair and smelled absolutely delicious. The scent is persimmon pear and is very fresh and clean. I have also started taking the biotin supplements. They are supposed to promote stronger nails and healthier hair. I plan to continue using the products and hope to find a salon in the NYC/NJ area that plans to carry it.

Seven’s tag line is “Your hair is the most important thing you wear.” I definitely agree! I look forward to trying more products and to seeing more great press on the line!
