Curling wands have become so popular within the last several years or so. They are easier to use and hold a style longer than traditional curling irons in my opinion. They do take a little getting used to at first but once you get the hang of it, you’ll really love them!
I tested out the
Bed Head Curlipops Reverse Tapered 3/4″ to 1″ Curling Wand. This wand will give you
apple bottom curls – little at the middle, fuller at the bottom. Its unique, reverse tapered barrel was designed to create bombshell, voluminous curls with a sleeker look up top. The wand heats up to
400 degrees Fahrenheit quickly and locks in the curl with a
clamp-free, wrap-and-go design that leaves no creases behind and a natural-looking finish. Tourmaline ceramic helps to

The wand does in fact heat up very quickly. My only wish was that there was an LED light that turns on to let you know it’s done heating up, since there isn’t a degree indicator on the product. You also cannot adjust the heat. I have very long, thick hair so I like to
curl about 1 to 2 inch sections at a time. I found the reverse tapered design a little different to work with than a standard curling wand, but once you get used to it,
it’s very easy to work with.
As you can see, I was able to
achieve lots of curls and shine without using any additional styling products in my hair. Since my hair is so long and thick, it does tend to take a little longer to curl which is why I don’t curl it very often. I did find that this product
cut curling time significantly and evenly distributed heat throughout my hair.
I also love the versatility of the product as well. You can concentrate the hair on different parts of the barrel which will allow you to get larger or smaller curls. It’s almost like having two wands in one.
At only $29.99, this product is very affordable and very effective. If you are tired of your traditional one-size curling wand or simply have not tried a curling wand at all, I would recommend giving this one a go. I love Bed Head products generally and this was the first styling iron I have tried from them. I really like it! I know they have some others in their line, such as crimpers and wavers, which I am interested in trying out also.
