The Changing "O": The Many Hairstyles and Makeup Looks of Oprah Winfrey

Throughout the years, we’ve all come to know, and hopefully love a very special lady. We’ve gotten comfortable on our couches, while the stars have gotten comfortable on hers.
We’ve have laughed, we’ve cried, we have felt rage, and gladness. We’ve marveled in wonder, and shook our heads in disbelief, and sometimes we sang along with the artist featured on her show.

Somehow, the name Oprah became a common word. Later this month on May 25th, Oprah Winfrey’s show will come to a close, leaving memories behind that span over twenty eight years. Her very first show was originally named AM Chicago back in 1983. She became a millionaire by the time she was 32 years old, and is considered to be the richest woman in entertainment.
Our Beautystat team remembers the introduction of Dr. Phil, the “famous” couch jumping episode of Tom Cruise, and many other moments, but we’d like to focus on Oprah’s iconic, and often signature look.

When Oprah won her Daytime Emmy, teasing was a big trend, and the queen certainly embraced this.

Oprah French Twist

During the 1990s, Ms. Winfrey was all about feathered bang and even inserts french twists and layered bangs during the decade. In 1997, she opted for a short wig and showed her definitely partiality for the layered short-haired look.

From 1998 on, it seems a curl obsession ensued , with the debut of her trademark curls in 1998. Below is a photograph taken at The Color Purple red carpet entrance in 2011.
