Dolce & Gabbana are going where they’ve never really gone before: the world of color cosmetics.
You may just see the designer’s name in the cosmetics counters of the major retail stores (gasp!). Stefano Gabbana has apparently been fascinated with makeup for years and they’ve signed up Scarlett Johanssen as their new spokesperson for the line.
The makeup will launch first, followed by D&G Skincare. We’re all over it, of course.
The debut collection will feature striking evocative images from the Mediterranean; black and gold for the volcanic island Stromboli, and deep burgundy hues evocative of Gabbana’s favorite flower, the Dahlia.
One of the biggest innovations in their new line is a lipstick with scent. Ah, yes!! The kind that fragrance fanatics will crave.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath collaborated on the line. And the prices seem right: nail lacquer $20; mascara $28; lipstick $30 and eyeshadow duos for $36.
