On February 15th, EMU Australia partnered with Style 360 to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 footwear, apparel and accessories collection at the Metropolitan Pavilion. EMU launched a new men’s collection which is a first in their 15 year history as a company (with a children’s line in development for the future as well). Inspired by the natural elements of Australia, EMU had a wide variety of neutrals and subtle placements of earth colors including mushroom, red earth, hedge green, clay and boysenberry throughout the show.
Walking through the Metropolitan Pavilion to get backstage, I was delighted to be introduced to a new-to-me-yet-thirty-year-old makeup brand: BeautiControl, as its colors varied and looked so easy-to-wear. They had intense palettes that looked as if they could rival many brands, yet neutral shades were used on the models for the show. Makeup artist Viktoria Bowers used all earth tones from BeautiControl. I came to understand that it was the second collaboration between BeautiControl and EMU. BeautiControl launched their new Color Hydrating Lip Color as the models were wearing soft peachy tones and their cheeks looked sun-kissed with a very natural-looking, matte skin.
L’Oréal Pro donated products for the hairstylists as they created a look that was tousled, yet smooth and shiny. Hair was parted down the middle with loose curls at the bottom. As the models walked, their hair bounced and you really got to look at EMU’s collection as opposed to being taken only by the makeup.
