I was so excited to review the Sonia Kashuk Brow Kit, $19.99. In this set, you are given the essential tools to help you maintain your brows. Brows are a huge trend this season so this kit should definitely be in your makeup bag! Included are a set of tweezers, a small pair of scissors for shaping and trimming, and a double-ended spoolie/ angled-liner brush duo for grooming and filling in brows. With it you also get a universal brow pomade to deliver definition by filling in the sparseness of your brows while holding your brow hairs in place all day. All of these items come in a sleek, black bag for easy storage.
I really enjoyed the tools in this set. I found that the products were of high quality and I was happy to receive a nice pair of brow scissors, which can be difficult to find. The spoolie/angled-liner brush is very helpful to fill in your brows and then comb them out if you have filled them in too dark.
The star of this show is the brow pomade. To my knowledge, and according to the Sonia Kashuk website, this only comes in one shade. I do hope that they will come out with more shades in the future. However, I did find that this color was dark enough to fill in my brows. What I really enjoyed was that unlike other brow pomades, this brow pomade was very stiff. So, you can easily run your brush through the pomade rather firmly and not worry about picking up too much product. Some of the other brow pomades on the market are so creamy that it is easy to pick up too much product.
Another great thing that I liked about the brow pomade was the fact that the packaging looks much more expensive than what it actually is. The container is glass. It’s very weighty. The lid screws on tightly so you don’t have to worry about the brow pomade drying out due to air exposure.
One more great thing about this product is that it actually holds your brow hairs in place! I usually end up using a clear brow gel in order to keep hairs in place throughout the day, but this pomade has some amazing hold. That being said, it does not leave your brows feeling crunchy either. I’m sure you girls know what I’m talking about!
Overall, I give this set a double thumbs up. I’m happy to have tried this. I’m not a fan of brow pencils generally. I usually use powders because other pomades can appear too harsh, but I really enjoyed this one.
