The Look: Boy-Boy, Girl-Girl
The beauty look for Band of Outsiders complimented the motif of a quaint, Victorian picnic. Makeup was divided into two looks—“girl-girl” and “boy-boy” to distinguish between the romantic and boyish pieces.
Makeup artist Dick Page for Shiseido describes the regimen as “super uncomplicated.” The skin was prepped with Shiseido’s signature skincare and minimal foundation used on certain areas of the face with a matte finish. Both looks had a rosy cheek applied from a stick—which was also applied to the bridge of the nose—one layer of mascara, and feathery strokes of brow makeup for definition.
The boy-girl look was distinguished with a precise black line around the eye, including the waterline, to give a wide-eyed look, and a toned down lip. Hair was tied into a messy chignon, which was created by Aveda hairstylist Didier Malige. Tendrils of a hair framed the face, along with wisps of hair around the bun.
Flushed lips highlighted the girl-girl look. Hair was rolled up into two tight spirals to set the hair into whirled, romantic waves. The spirals were heated with a hairdryer briefly before loosened into carefree waves. More waves were added with the Aveda Pure Hair Abundance Potion scrunched into the hair, and finished off with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray.
