Looking for your Fall 2014 makeup look without fully committing to the idea of swapping your coral gloss for a darker lip? Well, why not take some inspiration from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week?
Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup created the makeup look for the Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2014-15 show orchestrated by Raf Simons. Conceptualized in osmosis with a collection that combines a touch of history with a futuristic ambience, the makeup continues the same idea of interaction between these two worlds.
“I was directly inspired by the spirit of this collection, which plays on the contrast between classicism and a visionary imagination. This young woman had to have a pure and natural face, but also display a highly expressive ‘artificial’ element.
This dichotomy is a reproduction of the runway show décor, which sees orchids springing from a futuristic setting. Continuing this theme of duality, I wanted to emphasize the strength and fragility of this young woman.”– Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup

Peter Philips emphasized a strong eye as the focal point of the make-up look:
“I chose to apply silver eyeliner along the upper lash line, using Dior Silver Eyes (available in November 2014) for a very strong and very luminous look. The eyelid was made up using the 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow in Candy Choc n°676, in either the white or the yellow eyeshadow depending on the model’s skintone. White eyeliner was also applied to the inside of the lower lash line and again, in the same spirit of purity, lashes were not made up, leaving the silvery luminous eyeliner to take center stage.”
