I am a from birth, pry-my-liquid-liner-from-my-cold-dead-hands girly girl. If you feel me, Rouge Bunny Rouge will be your new cosmetic jam. Their line is based on fantasy, luxury and romance. Think gossamer colors named after birds, butterflies and flowers.
Dive into their fairy tale world with a product that you have definitely seen on runways, but might have a hard time tracking down here on Earth: eye gloss. Rouge Bunny Rouge Smithereens Of Stars Eye Gloss is a crystal clear formula that creates a dewy effect across lids or even cheekbones. Calendula and centella extracts are gentle on sensitive skin and the wax-free formula is lighter than other glosses. Feel free to experiment without worrying about irritation!

Eye glosses tend to slip and slide, so I test-drove the look with pale, shimmery (fool-proof) shadows from Rouge Bunny and my original Urban Decay Naked Palette.
To create that “fairy princess” look, you want to create a clean, dewy canvas. I started with 2 of my favorite moisturizers: Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment and Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Daily Calming Moisturizer.
Next, conceal any dark circles. I like Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in the shade Brightener; the slight salmon tint cancels out darkness. I finished with Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer to hide any imperfections, and skipped foundation.
Fill in brows with powder for a softer look than with a pencil. I’m using the matte shade Buck from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
Use a dense brush to lay down a shimmery shadow, like Rouge Bunny Long Lasting Eye Shadow in Golden Rhea, all across the lid. Highlight your inner corner and brow bone with a lighter color. I’m using Virgin from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
Next, apply the Smithereens Of Stars Eye Gloss. The quickest way is to use the attached brush to apply it right on the lid. Or, apply it to the back of your hand and use your ring finger to dab it onto eyes. The second method will keep your gloss clear and free from glitter and eyeshadow gunk. Gently blend the gloss and shadow with your ring finger. This creates a custom, shiny eye color.
If you have dark lashes, go bare! Gloss is by nature a slippery product and will smear with extended wear. If you’re a ginger like me, embrace the melt-off and apply a coat of mascara. Gloss keeps your makeup dewy, so you can blend away any shadow creasing throughout the day with your ring finger.
This is just one way to use Smithereens Of Stars. The possibilities are really limitless! Apply it on the inner corners of eyes for that wide awake Blake Lively look, or use it on a smoky eye for that deconstructed rocker chick finish (coming up next!).
