I was already in love with the Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder ($59.00), so I was super-excited to try the brand’s New Liquid Halo HD Broad Spectrum 15 Foundation ($42.00) – which claims to be sweat and humidity resistant.
Swatched in Shade #2 (Warm vanilla for fair/light complexions) and #1 (Natural vanilla for fair complexions)
If there was ever a time to see if these claims were true, now is the time. Humidity levels are through the roof in New York. I typically don’t wear foundation in this weather, because it tends to settle into pores, leaving behind an undesirable look. But, I have to say: I am impressed!
This foundation seems to be holding up. It looks natural and the coverage is buildable. It applies like a dream, blends into skins seamlessly and feels great on your skin all day.
Every Halo product comes with a sample of Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($42.00; swatched above). One day I wore a split face: my left side was the foundation alone; on the right side I wore the Photo Finish Primer. I preferred the foundation alone, especially because it felt so much lighter.
Eyes and lips are heating up this summer with the Smashbox Heat Wave Summer 2013 Collection featuring a 10-eyeshadow palette and 4 ultra-shiny lipgloss set. Check out swatches and looks —> HERE!
It is available in 10 shades that works with every undertone. Even, radiant skin is achievable because each pigment is encapsulated in a translucent gel, giving you a lit-from-within look. Available at Smashbox.com, Sephora, Macys, Nordstrom, Ulta and QVC.
GENIUS! Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner ($20.00), where have you been my whole life? Inspired by the pros who always sharpen before each use, this eyeliner self-sharpens every time you take the cap off.
Always Sharp allows for lining the inner rim of the eye without a sloppy application — all you get is a precise and flawless line. Available in 8 shades, from black to a nude taupe at Smashbox.com, Sephora, Macys, Nordstrom, Ulta and QVC.
I was intrigued by the Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara ($20.00). I love the brush, which lifted every lash — and it is so user-friendly. There aren’t any clumps, smudging or flaking to be had.
When I first pulled out the brush, I noticed what looked like blue pigments on the wand; I thought I got a blue mascara, but it’s not!
The Blue Prism Technology makes the whites of your eyes pop by using a blend of micas, titanium and blue pigments. I tried Brightening Black, which gave excellent lengthening and defining results. Available now at Sephora, Macys and Smashbox.com.
What do you beautynistas think of the Liquid Halo Foundation? Have you tried the Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder? What about that Blue Prism Technology?
