This type of SKINNY is in! Eyeko’s Skinny Brush Mascara Long & Tall certainly does the job. If a picture says a thousand words — you can see by my before and after photos below — then I am stating the facts. Now available at Sephora since last month, Eyeko has been getting major press in magazines, and I was lucky to come across the brand via Twitter. A lot of my ‘tweeps’ liked the product, so I decided to give it a try. With so many lengthening, volumizing and thickening mascaras out there, I wanted to know what made this one different. I soon found out.
This company launched back in 1999 and then re-launched in the UK October of 2011 — no wonder they have been creating a buzz around this brand as of late. Now, Sephora sells this mascara, which is the company’s number one seller, for $19.00 and is also available on www.sephora.com.
To understand how it works, you must see its components of both the wand and shield. When you see the “shield” that comes with the mascara you will also recognize it as their logo shape. You hold the “shield” behind your lashes and sweep the brush up to coat and lengthen the lashes from root to tip. The wand itself was created to evenly disperse the product onto the lashes.
It has a jet black pigment that leaves a feathery, waterproof finish that does not flake or crumble. It didn’t have any fallout, including little fibers or black dots, anywhere on my lower or upper lids throughout the entire day after application. I also think that the fact it has Pro-vitamin B in it helps my lashes stay conditioned and possibly add in the lash growth itself.
I found the exclusive Eyeko Shield to be very helpful upon application, yet I do not think it’s a must. So, for those of you that are apprehensive about using the shield and do not buy the product because of it, do not fret. It’s just a simple tool to help lengthen lashes and maximize curl without smudges.
After one coat, I was sold and so very happy that, via Twitter, we had reached out to one another. My lashes are long, shiny and have a va-va-va voom factor to them now!
