For Lady Gaga, makeup was done by Sarah Tanno for Mac Jacobs Beauty. The inspiration: “For the victoria’s secret fashion show, we created a variety of looks that were classic yet captivating. gaga’s skin was milky and alabaster, her eyes were big and bright, and her classic red pout at the beginning of the night really stole the show.” – sarah tanno
To prep Gaga’s skin for her first performance of “Million Reasons,” Tanno began with marc jacobs beauty under(cover) perfecting coconut face primer. Next, she brightened Gaga’s skin under the eyes using marc jacobs beauty remedy concealer pen in 2 wake-up call. Starting at the center of the face, Tanno then applied marc jacobs beauty genius gel super-charged oil-free foundation in 38 beige deep followed by marc jacobs beauty perfection powder – featherweight foundation in 300 beige to mattify but leave a velvety finish.
For a strong contour under gaga’s cheekbones, she used marc jacobs beauty #instamarc light filtering contour powder in dream filter 20, a soft pink/medium bronze duo, with a soft sweep of the contour powder along the hairline. Next, she used marc jacobs beauty glow stick glistening illuminator for heavy strobing on the high points of the face. Gaga’s cheeks were softened with marc jacobs beauty air blush soft glow duo in 500 lush & libido, a petal pink/orchid pink duo.
For the eyes, Tanno primed with marc jacobs beauty twinkle pop stick eyeshadow in honey bunny 400, a ballet-pink shimmer shade, from the lid to under the brow. She then applied a variety of shimmer shadows from marc jacobs beauty style eye con no 7 plush eyeshadow palette in the lover 220, using lighter shadows in the tear duct and glitter gold shades on the lid. Next, Tanno lined the outer corners of Gaga’s eyes with a generous amount of marc jacobs beauty highliner gel eye crayon eyeliner in blacquer 42, a jet black liner, and blended out into a thick wing. She deepened the black and sharpened the lines with marc jacobs beauty magic marc’er precision pen waterproof liquid eyeliner in blacquer.
She finished with two coats of marc jacobs beauty velvet noir major volume mascara on the top lashes for a fluffy and voluminous look, and used marc jacobs beauty feather noir ultra-skinny lash discovering mascara to separate and define the lower lashes.
To complete the look, Tanno went with bold red lips and applied marc jacobs beauty le marc lip crème lipstick in amazing 204, using a square lip brush to detail the shape.
For gaga’s second performance of “A-Yo” and “John Wayne” and her after-party look, Tanno did a simple quick-change by removing the red lip, leaving the remainder of the candy-apple red stain and topped off with marc jacobs beauty enamored hi-shine gloss lip lacquer lipgloss in 324 love buzz, a rose-gold shimmer for shine on the runway and pink carpet.
