With school and college classes recently resuming, I hope you’re all back into the swing of things! Today I would like to share with you some of the “holy grail” beauty items from Stila Cosmetics. You can purchase these items on the Stila website, your local Ulta or Sephora (in-store and online), or other authorized online retailers.

Not everyone is a morning person – so having the right products at your fingertips is super helpful when we want to look not only refreshed and awake but also put together for the day. Stila has some great items available that are multi-taskers – which is important when it comes to putting together quick looks in the early hours of the morning. Having one product that can do multiple things is a bonus.

The Stila One Step Skin Tone Illuminating Face Primer retailers for $36.00. Swirl your way to a luminous, glowing complexion in one step! This innovative triple-swirled helix serum instantly illuminates, primes, and nourishes skin while also working to improve skin tone, even the complexion, and smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

One Step Illuminate’s oil-free formula creates a gorgeous, illuminating glow with three shades of bronzers:

  • Kitten – brightens and illuminates
  • Pale Pink – warms the complexion
  • Champagne – highlights the skin

This product has an ultra-smooth, skin softening texture that creates the perfect, illuminated base for any complexion product. It contains Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex – a proprietary blend of 15 bio-available vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It has an ultra-lightweight refreshing gel serum texture.

I’m always a little apprehensive about products that illuminate because I have oily skin. However, I am happy to say that the One Step Illuminate did not contribute to my oiliness at all. (But this product would be great for those with dry skin!) The three shades blend together perfectly to create the most beautiful sheen on the skin that blends in seamlessly with your skin tone and primes the skin for makeup application. I use this product over my daily moisturizer but underneath my foundation. I think it aids with the slip and adhesion as well as the longevity of your makeup wear.

As you can see in the photograph, this product gives a nice glow to your skin. The shimmer is microfine yet not overbearing so you don’t have to worry about looking like a glitter bomb. Even if you aren’t a person who wears a lot of foundation or concealer, this would still be a beautiful product to use over top of your moisturizer to give yourself a healthy glow. (Perfect for those days when you’re running late for class!)

The Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer retails for $40.00 and comes in a variety of shades – from light to deep. The foundation is lightweight and oil-free. It has buildable coverage and is considered a matte foundation. Conveniently hidden inside of the cap is a creamy, full-coverage refillable concealer that blends seamlessly to instantly neutralize under-eye circles and hide skin imperfections. This ultra long-wearing, water-resistant formula is designed to Stay All Day, and looks and feels natural on the skin.

The foundation contains Stila’s proprietary Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex – 15 bio-available vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The concealer has peach undertones to neutralize discolorations, making it easier to conceal imperfections with less product.

I think the design on this product is great. You have a push-up pump style built into the bottle. You simply press down and the foundation comes out from the spout. This will keep the product clean and keep bacteria out. I think the foundation has a really nice texture. It feels very hydrating on the skin. It blends nicely too. The shade I have this product in is “Light.” It’s a pretty good match for my skin tone. I noticed that the concealer was perfectly adjusted to match the foundation color. What I mean by that is that it’s just a couple of shades lighter, which makes it perfect to use as an under-eye concealer because it will brighten that area. Yet, it’s not too light that you can’t use it to spot conceal any blemishes on the face.

As I mentioned, I have oily skin so foundations tend to have problems staying on my nose/cheek area throughout the day without oil shining through. This product did an amazing job and has really good staying power – which is great for those of us who are at school or work all day and don’t have time to continuously touch up our makeup or keep checking a mirror. The coverage is definitely buildable as Stila claims and does not cake up when you layer the foundation on top of itself.

The Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Palette  in Sunset Serenade retails for $39.00 – but is currently on sale for $15.00 on the Stila website. You can easily apply these with a fingertip for convenient application on-the-go, or with a brush.

You can see from the swatches how creamy these shades are. I think the color section is perfect too as it will cover a variety of skin tones and shades. I am a fan of the Stila Convertible Color formula. It blends into the skin with ease and lasts all day. It doesn’t leave a sticky or tacky feeling on the cheeks and the products are quite hydrating when used on the lips. I personally like to apply these with a small stippling brush; however, you could of course use your fingers or even a dampened beauty sponge and get beautiful, flawless results. They don’t dry too quickly so you have time to blend which makes this palette perfect for a cream blush beginner. Plus, the fact that you can use these on both your lips and cheeks makes it a great multi-tasking product for your morning routine before class.

I tend to save the best for last but my opinion might be biased because I am an eyeshadow junkie. The Stila Eyes Are The Window Eyeshadow Palettes retail for $49.00 each. The palette on the left is Body and the palette on the right is Soul. These palettes are inspired by the spiritual notion that true beauty is revealed from within. Each palette is curated with 12 luxurious eyeshadows to illuminate your inner beauty.

Body is a colorful collection of 12 bright and neutral shades.

  • Pink Diamond
  • Topaz
  • Garnet
  • Rose Quartz
  • Aquamarine
  • Emerald
  • Amethyst
  • Tanzanite
  • Midnight Quartz
  • Moonstone
  • Sapphire
  • Black Diamond

Soul is a luxurious palette of 12 sumptuous, everyday eyeshadows.

  • Light
  • Individual
  • Being
  • Kitten
  • Affection
  • Character
  • Thought
  • Heart
  • Peace
  • Vitality
  • Substance
  • Essence

Each palette comes with a lookbook curated by Sarah Lucero, Stila’s Global Executive Director of Creative Artistry. The lookbooks provide great inspiration for beginners and more advanced makeup users alike – something you can glance over when you’re not studying, of course. Here are some swatches of my favorite shades in each palette.

Each palette has a beautiful mix of shades that work well together. You could definitely mix and match colors from the various palettes. I created several looks using these palettes and I am in love with the formula on the eyeshadows. They aren’t overly soft yet they aren’t pressed too hard in the pan so that you have difficulty picking product up on your brush. I find that some of the eyeshadows apply better to the eyes than they swatch so please don’t be deceived by the swatches. The matte eyeshadows blend beautifully, which can often be a tricky formula for companies to get right. The shimmer and metallic shades are creamy and buttery.

For my multi-tasking students, don’t forget that you can use the lighter shades as a highlight on your cheekbones too! Kitten is one of Stila’s most popular shades, a cult classic if you will. This shadow looks gorgeous blending onto the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the cupid’s bow, and anywhere you want a little shimmer and shine.

Here are some looks I created using these products:

You can go from light, daytime wear to deep, dark, and smokey with the stroke of a brush – literally.

Overall, I’m thoroughly pleased with these new products from Stila. I think there is definitely something for everyone within their product range. As I mentioned, a lot of these products are great at multi-tasking, so it would be especially perfect for students, working individuals, busy moms, etc.
