While browsing at Sephora, what appeared to be a jewelry box filled with so many products caught my eye. It was “The Starlet” from tarte cosmetics and does in fact include 24 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, bronzer, shimmering powder, lash primer and doubles as a reusable jewelry box.
Once the outer box is opened, it contains a note from its founder Maureen Kelly and reads “I love giving the gift of old Hollywood glamour with this limited-edition makeup vanity that doubles as a reusable jewelry box!” As I went to apply my makeup for the day, I didn’t exactly know where to start as there were so many color choices. It is “goof proof” as each of the six palettes have four colors each. I tend to follow the rules with the lightest color all over, medium and dark in the crease and corners and such but when it comes to parties or any Holiday event for that matter, this is a palette to have fun with. Both the first and second drawer contain eye shadows and the second drawer has tarte’s multiplEYE Prime 2 and lights, camera, lashes mascara and the last drawer contains the blushes, bronzer and shimmering powder. All of these products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate or synthetic fragrances. Tarte cosmetics are also animal cruelty free.

I went right for the natural brown/gold tones and used all four shades to create my day look. My eyelashes looked extremely full and long after applying only two coats of the mascara. I was impressed as I have tried so many mascaras that promise to deliver a longer lash. This is a product that showed results! The multiplEYE Prime 2 is a clinically proven lash enhancing primer that claims it increases lash volume by 739%. Yes, you read that number correctly. I will tell you that I have heard positive things about this line and I was impressed with the variety of colors and how they were arranged in easy to use palettes. The before and after pictures on Tarte’s website www.tarte.com made me want to sample more products as they showed up close images of different women with a variety of skin challenges with great looking results in their after pictures. I find seeing side by side before and after pictures helpful when deciding to sample or buy a particular product. 
So often I see these grandiose palettes with no outline of how to use them and decide not to purchase them as they seem to overwhelming to use. This one was just right for me and I cannot wait to play with the smoky blue palette as well as tossing in the emerald green color named “virtuoso” along my lash line.
