Cargo Cosmetics is one of my favorite makeup brands. I was excited to see that they came out with the new Picture Perfect CC Cream, $34, which contains a broad spectrum SPF 20. This is a multi-purpose, oil-free complexion cream that works with breakthrough color adapting pigments and color correcting technology to give you a soft, even, natural-looking finish. The CC Cream comes in three shades: light, medium, and dark. I found that the light shade worked best for me.
The product contains micro encapsulated pigments which self-adjust to your skin tone. It also has hydra-extend which is a plant-derived carbohydrate complex providing immediate moisture retention and up to 72 hours of skin hydration! Photonic crystal technology diffuses the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin imperfections. The CC cream also contains Vitamins C & E, which promote collagen synthesis for smoother texture, and green tea and chamomile extract to protect your skin from free radical damage.
Initially, once the product is squeezed from the tube, it appears white. Once you begin to blend, the true color starts to come about. The pigment self-adjusts to your skin tone for an easy match! I found it to have light to medium coverage and it is also buildable. All I needed was a little bit of concealer to cover some blemishes and dark under eye circles. I topped it off with a setting powder and I was good to go.
Cargo has also released limited edition Gel Lip Colors, $20. I sampled Chelsea, a warm nude, and Brooklyn, a mauve shade. I think both are great Spring, Summer and even Fall. I will definitely get a lot of use out of these shades.
The lip colors are packed with antioxidants to nourish and protect lips. They go on smoothly and leave lips feeling soft and full of moisture. You can apply them over bare lips for a sheer color or apply over lipstick for extra moisture and sheen. Below, I am wearing the Gel Lip Color and I find that they are not very sheer, but more pigmented. The wear time on these lipsticks is probably about 4 to 5 hours without having to reapply, unless you are eating or drinking a lot.
If you prefer light coverage foundation that isn’t cakey looking, I highly recommend the CC Cream. The Gel Lip Colors should definitely be added to your makeup collection!
