Revlon, with a long and storied history, is one of the original iconic makeup brands, founded in 1932 with the first full coverage nail enamel and now of course a complete line of accessibly priced products. For me, the Revlon story is personal. It was my mother’s go to brand growing up and became my introduction to makeup.
Super Lustrous Lipstick, at least 70 years on the market, though no doubt modernized, now comes in three formulas, cream and pearl, both with a satin finish (90 shades) and the newest matte with 24 shades. Fire and Ice, introduced in 1950, is still a best seller in the line, a classic light warm red. For this collection, Revlon has added a new shine version of Fire and Ice, ultra-shiny with a soothing balm like feel that doesn’t feather. Also new is Dazzle Me Pink Shine, a medium bright pink. Two new mattes round out the collection, Femme Future Pink, a neon bright lilac pink, and Getting Serious, a deep orange/red with brown under-tones. These two shades offer a creamy matte finish and manage to feel as creamy as opposed to dry which is not easy to achieve with matte shades.
