(Review) Washable Mascaras: Maybelline’s “One by One” Versus “Volum’ Express Falsies”

No girl can have too many mascaras, for sure. This is the golden age of the long, thick lash. From Latisse to falsies, every lash needs to be coated, loved, elongated.

We recently (at New York’s Fashion Week, to be precise), got our paws on two lovely washable mascaras by Maybelline: the new One by One mascara, and the Volum’ Express Falsies.

The Falsies promises 300% more visible lashes…instantly. I was really pleased at the way the spoon-shaped brush coated each strand of my lashes — one by one. The brush literally fans out your lashes. They made my lashes long and spindly (even though the mascara says Volum’ Express…I would say it’s a genius lash separator, and length express).

Between the Falsies and the One by One mascara, I’d say the latter is most definitely my favorite. The brush is not curved, and therefore the lashes get separated as though you’re combing them with a fine tooth comb. And the length — wow! You have to try it to believe it.

Take a look at these two mascaras, side by side, and see which one is right for you.

These two mascaras are available in drugstores nationwide. Tell us, are you a fan? Which one do you prefer?

  1. I own the Falsies one and not the One by One but I really liked the falsies so I would like to try the other mascara and compare the difference! Thanks

  2. I use both! One by one to seperate and if I need to add drama…apply a coat of Falsies when dry! It works great and washes off easily! What could be better?!

  3. I actually really like the One By One mascara. =]

  4. Thanks for writing such an easy-to-unedrsatnd article on this topic.
