BeautyStat's Newest Writer: Colleen Dowd + 5 Best Beauty Products She Can't Live Without! - Skincare Review 2014

Continuing our #FF series, get to know Colleen Dowd – a freelance beauty writer who has been published in Spa, Self and Parents.com, among others.

“I’m thrilled to start writing for BeautyStat.com. I have been a beauty junkie for as long as I can remember (collecting LipSmackers from CVS).

When I began working at a magazine, I discovered the beauty closet and the rest is history. I love testing out products, whether they are drugstore steals or department store splurges. There are products to make you feel beautiful at every price point.”

While I love testing out new beauty products, there are a few that I can’t seem to part with. Here are my favorite 5:

Korres Guava Body Butter: Ahhh, I wish this page was scratch-and-sniff. My friend gave me this body butter for Christmas last year and I have been hooked ever since. The tropical, sweet scent and super-hydrating formula team up to form the perfect lotion!

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes: These are officially a lazy girl’s best friend. There is no excuse for sleeping with your makeup on when these soft, pre-moistened wipes are sitting in your bathroom.

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo: When I began coloring my hair, I discovered the power of dry shampoo. But it’s not just for those of us who are grey-challenged. It allows you to skip shampoos, while looking like you didn’t!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler: Don’t doubt the power of a good eyelash curler. It’s the best defense to look awake in 2-seconds. This one is top-rated for a reason. Its design provides a natural-looking curl while its handle makes it easy-to-use.

Boscia B.B. Cream: Last, but certainly not least, is this oil-free cream that adjusts to your skintone and provides broad spectrum SPF 27 protection. Truly a one-step wonder to a flawless foundation!
