Review, Ingredients: Cosmedicine Healthy Cleanse One-Step Perfected for Oily Skin, Even the Score Perfected Very Water Resistant Sunscreen for the Face, Triple-P Perfect Brightening Serum

I recently sampled the Healthy Cleanse One-Step Perfected for Oily Skin, Even the Score Perfected Very Water Resistant Sunscreen for the Face and Triple-P Perfect Brightening Serum from Cosmedicine. Unfamilar with the brand, I was excited to try the three products I was sent.

The Healthy Cleanse One-Step, $52, is a light, fluffy, foaming wash that promises to leave the skin “clean, hydrated, toned and shine-free.” The revolutionary, multi-tasking foaming face wash whisks away oil and acne-causing bacteria while eliminating environmental pollutants and dead skin cells. It also, melts away even the most stubborn waterproof makeup without irritation or stinging, leaving skin captivatingly soft and supple.

The oxygenating formula claims to fight oil and restore skin’s optimal pH balance. The formula contains:

• Salicylic acid—Penetrates deeply for effective, non-irritating exfoliation that targets congested pores to eradicate blemishes.
• Oleanolic acid—A natural extract of olive leaves, soothes inflammation and reduces redness.
• Witch hazel—A time-honored astringent that gives the appearance of tightened pores while clearing dirt and debris.

According to Cosmedicine, most foaming cleansers contain harsh detergents that dry out skin and send oil production into overdrive. But Cosmedicine’s formula imparts a thin layer of moisture to keep oil production at bay immediately after cleansing and instantly restore the optimal pH level of surface skin—so it is never excessively oily or dry. Shaking the smart-designed dispenser creates a frothy, oxygenating foam that circulates gentle surfactants while cleansing.

I am not prone to oily skin, so at first I was hesitant to sample and review this product. But I realized that the heat and humidity of a New York summer was definitely giving my skin a little too much in the shine department. So I gave it try.

I used it in the shower, to cleanse my face of makeup and the plain old dirt of the day. I found it was an excellent product—light and luxurious, but very effective too. And true to its promise, my skin felt fresh, soft and hydrated after use—not tight or dry in the least. So this is my new summer cleanser and so far it’s doing a terrific job.

The Even the Score Perfected Very Water Resistant Sunscreen, $95, is a “miracle” anti-aging sun-protection product designed with high-performance athletes in mind. Formulated without water, it does not mix with moisture when you sweat or swim—instead, it locks in the skin’s internal hydration with a non-comedogenic protective layer of anti-aging vital nutrition.

I was especially eager to try this because I am a bit of fanatic about sun protection, especially on the face where the sun’s aging effects are so visible. I used this on clean, dry skin, added my usual foundation/blush combo, and went off for a very vigorous bike ride around Prospect Park. Despite the heat of the day and my exertion, the sunscreen stayed put. This is a real plus since I have had experiences in which the sunscreen has migrated to my eyes, causing them to water and burn. Not so with this product! I plan to use it all summer long, and can tell that it will be great for those long, lazy days at the beach, pool or lake. The Triple-P Perfect Brightening Serum, $210, antioxidant and multivitamin complexion-perfecting miracle serum is part of the special-edition day-and-night serum collection, and is said to be, “the apex of acclaimed skincare formulator Mark Potter’s groundbreaking work.”

This advanced complexion-perfecting serum, formulated with powerful antioxidants and multivitamins, concentrates these nutrients at the skin’s surface and forms a weightless, natural, protective shield against daily environmental assaults. The super-elixir is infused with resveratrol, a potent antioxidant that scavenges free radicals, helping the skin absorb essential minerals and evening skin texture by reducing the appearance of fine lines. Additionally, Triple-P Perfected is said to reverse the harmful visual effects of environmental damage, lessen the appearance of hyperpigmentation, sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles while brightening and illuminating skin’s overall complexion.

I used this product twice daily for about two weeks. Before bed, I added a night crème on top of it, and during the day, I used sun protection + foundation and blush. I did not notice a radical change in fine lines, wrinkles or prior sun damage. Longer use of the product will likely produce these results. It’s a fine product that absorbs well and left my skin feeling soft, supple and looking refreshed.
