Clear, glowing skin is something I work hard at daily. While I was in college, I could sleep in makeup, use whatever products I wanted and commit a bunch of “skin sins” and I still had a nice, even complexion.
In my late 20’s, however, it’s a whole different story! Adult acne reared its ugly head when I was 26-years-old, which made me take a serious look into how I was treating my skin. I started visiting my dermatologist twice a year, but in between trips to the derm, I had to find at-home treatments I could do myself. So, I invested in devices that would help keep my skin clear.
Here I’m sharing 3 gadgets that I’ve used consistently for at least a year now. It’s important to note, that when it comes to skincare, consistency is key. Nothing will work overnight, but if you stick with it, you’re more likely to see better results.
Huetiful Hair & Facial Steamer
Initially, I purchased the Huetiful Hair & Facial Steamer as a device for my hair. It comes with a hood that you can use to sit under for deep steam treatments. I owned the facial attachment for nearly 10 months before I realized that it would be great for at-home facials. And, what a wonderful difference it has made!
I steam my face twice per week to open my pores before applying a mask. Not only does my skin love it, but having 20-minutes of “me” time while I steam my skin truly relaxes me after a long day at work.
Tanda Clear Plus
Have you ever felt a pimple coming on days before it actually shows up on the surface of your skin? That’s the perfect time to pull out the Tanda Clear Plus, because it will kill the bacteria under the skin, and, in most cases, prevent the blemish from coming to a head. This device emits a blue-colored 414 nm violet light, along with gentle heat which opens pores. I press the device onto the surface of my skin for 3-minutes, twice per day.
By now, many of you have heard rave reviews about the Clarisonic, and I’m here to tell you that all the hype is totally true! What I love most about this specific model of the Clarisonic is that it features three speeds which makes it great for all skin types.
I keep my Clarisonic set on the slowest speed because I like to use it every day. I do, however, switch between the normal brush head and the deep pore brush head when I want a deeper clean, or if I’m washing off my makeup. Overall, this brush has contributed to my skin feeling smoother and clearer, since it clears away dirt and buildup more effectively than washing with soap and water alone.
