BeautyStat‘s Managing Editor, Theresa, and I have always been huge aficionados for everything Asian beauty. From Sailor Moon-inspired lipsticks to colorful Hello Kitty beauty finds, we’ve literally emailed each other about it all.
4 Best New Asian Skincare Tools/Masks From Imomoko.com: HydraGel Lip, Steam Hot Eye Mask, Facial Patting Sponge, Lather Building Soap Net
So, when we discussed the idea of going to Chinatown to discover the best Asian beauty finds, I was more than overjoyed. Not only did that give me an opportunity to escape my basically “culture-less” corner of northern Jersey, but it allowed me to get my paws on some rare treasures you really can’t find anywhere else.
Kam Man 2nd Floor
200 Canal Street, New York, NY 10013
With my makeup-obsessed sister in tow, we headed down to Canal Street to find lots of different shops to tickle our beauty-loving fancy. From Kam Man‘s magical second floor, OO35mm and the Face Shop ,there was tons of places to explore with one-of-a-kind goodies.
And not only were the prices pretty darn good, but we found everything from mah-velous masks to Sleeping Beauty Hip Pants to keep your figure slim and smooth.

Now time for more on the beauty loot! At the way-too-cute OO35mm, I scored these adorable Curl Up heart-shaped sponge curlers that can be used to create soft waves and loose curls overnight.
Rolling your hair in each sponge curler, you can totally wear these babies overnight (yes, they are soft enough to sleep in) for some glamming action while you snooze. The following morning, just unwrap your hair and get ready for some gorgeous tresses.
Face masks are totally a hit with us beauty junkies, as each prepackaged mask we stumbled upon boasted everything from anti-aging to brightening effects with unheard-of skin-loving ingredients, of course. For an unbeatable price, we hoarded packs of My Scheming Facial Sheet Masks available in several unique (say hello to bamboo-charcoal and volcano mud) variations. Promising to soften skin, beat acne and minimize pores, simply apply each botanical-soaked sheet onto your face and leave on for a good half hour for glowing results.
The Face Shop
By the time we got to The Face Shop we were on mask overload as each cheap (costing about two bucks each!), real, natural sheet mask incorporated foreign ingredients to perfect your complexion. I’m a huge kelp lover, so naturally I enjoyed slathering this yummy purifying one onto my face at night.
But aside from masks, I’ve also got a weak spot for konjac sponges, as nothing else seems to get my acne-prone skin balanced and squeaky-clean. For some pure detox action, I picked up the Charcoal & Konjac Cleansing Puff, which helps boost the effectiveness of your cleanser while gliding easily across sensitive skin.
