With its pale green color and super-fresh (think tropical ocean breezes) scent, this Olay Instant Hydration Night Cream ($14.99) was delightful to apply. According to the folks at Olay, “Instant Hydration Night Cream with a vitamin complex infuses your skin with hydration throughout the night.” And when they say “instant,” they aren’t kidding!

This stuff absorbs practically before you even put it on — I was totally wowed, since any of you who read my articles know that this is one of my pet peeves: cream that sits on your skin — doing a big fat nothing for your complexion — and making a mess of your pillowcase! But, this cream is as good as its word. I woke up to a dewy-soft face with no smears on the pillowcase! I also love the price point. Ladies, do not pass this one up! Stock up now before it disappears.

Olay promised that the “Instant Hydration Eye Cream ($14.99) with vitamin complex infuses your skin with hydration to help instantly reduce the look of aging around the eye area.” Uh, really? I liked this product for its scent and feel, and it provided a good base for under eye concealer. But I did not notice a reduction in the look of aging around the eyes. Just wasn’t happening for me.

Olay makes the claim that “Instant Hydration Day Serum ($14.99) with a vitamin complex instantly infuses your skin with hydration.”Again, I liked the texture, feel and smell of this super-fresh-scented product, but since it contains no SPF whatsoever, it means that you need to apply a product with SPF over it (or at least I do, since I never poke my nose outdoors without the stuff).

So, it seemed like an extra step without any discernible benefits. Yes, it felt nice going on but I am not sure I need such a product. I am more inclined to use my serums at night, followed by a night cream; no SPF necessary then. In my opinion, this is an optional rather than essential product.
