The Gold Collagen Hydro-Gel Mask is made of a soothing gel consistency which claims to hydrate and revitalize dull, fatigued skin. The hydro-gel formula is said to help the ingredients (chiefly, gold and collagen) penetrate deeply into the skin.
Collagen is said to keep skin supple and prevent fine lines. It also helps provide hydration and moisture so that skin appears smoother and younger. Gold has been used in skincare for hundreds of years due to its reputation of having anti-aging properties. Gold is said to reduce the breakdown of elastic and collagen, increasing the elasticity of the skin.
The Charcoal Pore-Purifying Rubber Mask is a two-step process that claims to minimize the appearance of pores and remove excess sebum and oil for a smooth and clear complexion. The two steps include a highly concentrated cream and a rubber mask that was developed to seal in the cream benefits as well as soothe stressed skin. Ingredients include grapeseed extract, green tea extract, charcoal powder, algin, hyaluronic acid, chamomile, and green seaweed extract.
This mix-it-yourself two-step moisturizing mask goes on like a jelly, dries, peels off like a gummy, and promises smoother and firmer skin. The kit includes a mixing tray, hyaluronic gel, activating powder, and an application spatula. Hyaluronic acid is said to retain a huge amount of moisture per molecule to help repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Hyaluronic acid also helps to smooth the skin and protect it from sun and UV ray damage. Algae is packed with many skin nutrients including essential amino acids, vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as lots of antioxidants. Algae is said to leave skin feeling moisturized, softened, and supple.
I prepared the gummy mask as directed, pouring the gel into the tray, adding the powder, and mixing it with the spatula for 60 seconds. I then applied it to clean skin with the spatula, working quickly before it dried. I left it on for 20 minutes, until it dried into the gummy-like texture. Then I peeled it off and washed off whatever traces were left with a washcloth.
