Bobbi Brown: Lipstick Pioneer. That is what she should be called anyway. Her line started out with 12 wearable shades, all with a brown base. Flash-forward twenty years, and she keeps reinventing the product. A true innovator. I opened the package and was blown away by the pigments and texture of this new take on matte lips with Bobbi’s Creamy Matte Lip Color ($24.00).
Pictured on my hand is Calypso (a clear, bright coral) and Latte (a warm, medium toned beige). Out of all the 12 new shades the brand has created, I have a feeling that Tawny Pink and Warm Beige are going to be the top sellers.
I wore both shades to my day job so I could experience both of their color impact. They wore equally well throughout my day; the lipsticks felt secure on my lips and went on easily. Not something you always find with matte formulas. The only issue I had with this lipstick was the packaging. Yes, it is sleek and elegant, but I prefer the traditional shape of a lipstick: not being round. I find it makes application tricky, unless, of course, you are using a lip brush — which is something I don’t always carry around with me during the day.
