Makeup Review, Swatches: Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Quads/Duos, Brush Set, Highlighter, Ultra Luxe Lipgloss, Bronzer 2013

Sonia Kashuk first came across my radar in the early 90s, as she was Cindy Crawford‘s personal makeup artist. Then she started her eponymous line for Target. I was excited to see what she has come up with for Spring ’13.

If you aren’t already familiar with Sonia’s products, please do so. Her attention to detail and quality are second to none in the mass market. Her brush sets and cosmetics are department store quality, but at a price we can all appreciate.

Pictured is her Limited Edition Part of the Tribe 6 pc. Brush Set ($24.99). Six pieces help you achieve a flawless face. I will tell you this: When I was working in retail, I would often recommend to newbies that they should buy Sonia’s brush line. Her brushes don’t look like typical mass market brushes — they feel fabulous and they apply makeup nicely. This particular set comes housed in a a chic woven zip-around case that doubles as a clutch. The brushes have a brown and white tribal print, which will add pizazz to any vanity table:

Domed Powder Brush
Synthetic Angled Foundation/Concealer brush
Duo Fiber Blending Brush
Eye Shadow Brush
Definition Brush
Lash/Brow Groomer

Whether you buy a set or a single brush, you will be very happy with it. They apply makeup great. Unlike other less expensive brushes, they also wash very well — keeping their shape and softness.

Her Eyeshadow Quads ($13.99) come in four shades: Textured Rose, Textured Mauve, Textured Cocoa and Textured Taupe. These quads deliver soft and smooth shadows, which blend seamlessly into skin. Four textures to titillate the eyes: velvety matte, subtle shimmer, metallic sheen and sparkle. Each of the shades can be worn alone or layered to get your desired look. Pictured are Textured Rose and Textured Mauve.

The Eyeshadow Duos ($7.29) are also of high quality with an easily blendable formula. These shadows are creamy and blend so easily. Most mass market shadows (that I have tried) tend to go everywhere on your face except your eyes. These shadows, Quads included, have a great pigment and stay true. The Eyeshadow Duos come in Girl’s Night Out and Down to Earth.

I have one word for these Ultra Luxe Lip Glosses ($8.99)… LOVE! Sonia Kashuk has another hit on her hands with her lipglosses. They are sumptuous, rich, nicely pigmented and wear so well!

They will be a staple in my makeup kit. I may never buy a department store gloss again! They remind me of a gloss that starts with N and ends in S, but the price point is wallet-friendly

These glosses are infused with glycerin/fatty acids, along with hydrators such as papaya fruit extract. I also want to add this gloss has no scent whatsoever, so it’s great for gals who are sensitive to fragrance. This formula enhances skin’s elasticity and protects lips with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Pictured on my wrist is Naked Nude and Polished Plum. There are six more shades in this collection that you should definitely check out: Fairest Flush, Prettiest Pink, Ravishing Rose, Coveted Coral, Modern Mauve and Magical Mulberry.

Two must-have products going forth into spring/summer are Sonia Kashuk‘s Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick ($10.99) and Undetectable Crème Bronzer ($10.99). These two products will give you a sun-glistened, youthful look! I sure want that!

The Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick is a multitasker. You can use it to highlight your cheeks, eyes and, in my case, nose! (TIP: I like to put a light glisten on my nose when I contour). Triglycerides in the product ensure that it will blend smoothly and create a long-lasting, shimmering effect. This product comes in two shades: Persian Sunset (pictured) and Sparkling Sands, a bronzed nude.

If you are looking to contour or to just add some warmth to your skin Undetectable Crème Bronzer ($10.99) is for you! This product is amazing. A crème-to-powder formula that can be used with either your fingers or the sponge, which is located under the product. How convenient!

The product is translucent, so you can build-up the amount of bronzer that you desire. I am so happy because it replaces my long-ago-discontinued Bronzing Stick from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. It also contains SPF 20 to protect the skin. This product comes in two shades, Warm Tan and Rich Bronze (pictured).
