Taking a one-week break from hair, this ‘Curl Gurl’ had the pleasure to go backstage (and view the runway shows) for the Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week at Lincoln Center! Lancôme invited me backstage to watch as the models were prepped before the show for designer Chris Benz. I definitely enjoyed the hustle and bustle backstage! Lancôme makeup artist Daniel Martin was a joy to watch backstage, chat with and I even got some makeup tips! The inspiration for the Spring/Summer ’13 Chris Benz Collection show was one part Japanese horror film, one part Tiny Tim from the 70’s. The look Daniel Martin went for was balmy, romantic, mysterious, ethereal, with a bit of spookiness!
Description: Minimalist lashes covered with clear brow groomer and a translucent lip kept the focus around the cheekbones and eyes, which were shaded pink. The look was sheer with a wash of color rather than bright, saturated hues.
