Estée Lauder’s Pure Color High Gloss ($18.50) promises to deliver a hydrating gloss with an ultra-dimensional sheer color finish. Available in 8 shades ranging from nudes to plums, there is a color for every skin tone. I had the pleasure of sampling both Flash Dance, which is in the berries family and Vixen Plum (pictured above and what I am wearing below), which is more of a plum shade.

The gloss applied easily and due to my tattooed lips, I used the applicator top (where the gloss comes out of) to outline my lips as well as fill them in. I am a huge lipgloss fan! My lips are tattooed with a natural lip color, so I have to be mindful when applying any other color besides nudes. My favorite lipgloss of all time being Chanel‘s Glossimer in Constellation for its subtle shimmers that no other lipgloss I own has come close to matching. Although it is one of my favorites, the Pure Color High Glosses rein supreme in their long-wearing ability and richly pigmented color payoff.

My lips also appeared fuller to me and later I read that these glosses do add “cushion” to your lips as they are enriched with skin-conditioning ingredients such as vitamin E, vitamin C and antioxidants. Hours later, my lips still felt extremely hydrated and still kept their glossy shine.

Their exclusive True Vision Technology is intended to wrap the pigments in a crystal-like coating to optically enhance the lips with prismatic color and shine; my lips did glisten and appear fuller after application. I believe that the multi-dimensional way this gloss was formulated gives the wearer a lip full of depth, dimension and color — giving it a 3D effect. Not to mention high-shine that lasts for hours as well.

The packaging is clear so that you can see which shade you’d like from the moment you see the gloss. I liked the high-gloss shine and wearability — a little goes a long way and I always view this as a practical quality in a lipgloss. I love wearing glosses and I did not find these to be sticky, tacky or too sheer; I certainly liked that my lips appeared fuller as well. Now, I am eager to try the colors Bare Glow and Crystal Clear from their collection of nude shades over my inked lips for a daytime look.

Pure Color High Gloss will be available beginning May 2012 at Estée Lauder counters worldwide and at www.esteelauder.com.
