NEW YORK, NEW YORK May 17, 2013 — Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) celebrated this year’s breakthrough beauty products today at the 19th Annual CEW Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards. This year, CEW awarded 36 products across 30 product categories, plus Best Seller Awards, the Indie Beauty Award, Eco Beauty Award, and QVC Beauty Quest Award. The award-winning products included bath and body care, cosmetics, hair care, skin care and the newly-added skincare tools and lip treatment categories. The full list of the winning products is included below.
The CEW Beauty Awards is the only awards program in which the winners are determined exclusively by beauty industry professionals, CEW’s 5,500+ members who know the best in beauty. 185 finalists were selected from more than 650 entries. The CEW Beauty Awards exemplify the industry’s highest recognition for manufacturers and brands, and serve as a trusted guide for consumers to the most innovative new products for the year.
“With so many options to choose from, it can be challenging for consumers to distinguish between them,” says Carlotta Jacobson, President of CEW. “A CEW Beauty Award seal stands for the best innovations in beauty, helping consumers make informed decisions when purchasing a product.”
In addition to identifying advancements in beauty products, CEW announced the winner of the Indie Beauty Award for the leading new start-up in the world of beauty. This year’s winner is Julep™.
The CEW Best Seller Award recognizes the product categories with the largest growth in sales and the most successful product in that category for both mass and department stores. Winners are based on retail sales data from Symphony/IRI and NPD. This year’s winners are: Best Seller Mass: Makeup, L’Orèal Paris Colour Riche Nail and Best Seller Prestige: Skincare, Estée Lauder Perfectionist
CEW also recognized the breakthrough fragrance of the year with a Best Seller Award. Lancôme La Vie est Belle was the top fragrance launch of 2012 across both mass and prestige.
This marks the first year for the CEW skincare tools and lip treatment categories. The awards were added to recognize these growing categories in the beauty marketplace. This year’s winning product for skincare tools was NuFACE – Trinity Skin Boosting System with Microcurrent and Red LED. The winning product for Lip Treatment was Fresh, Inc. – Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy.
Also new this year, CEW collaborated with QVC buyers to discover the next big beauty product. The winner, Neydharting Moor, will be featured on QVC this summer.
