Vanessa Hudgens’ slayed the other night at the MTV Video Music awards! Today I’m going to share with you how to get this style which will give you a slicked-back but voluminous look. Chad Wood’s inspiration for this sleek and chic style was to play off of the textures in Vanessa’s dress.

Here’s a step by step to recreate this look:

1. Start with wet hair and apply John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster Blow Dry Lotion.
2. Then, blow dry the hair straight and back – styling each section away from the face and helping create extra volume at the crown.
