Aaron de Mey for NARS Cosmetics created the makeup look for the Creatures of the Wind Spring/Summer 2016 runway show. “The look was inspired by singer, Siouxsie Sioux. She always had a very strong eye look – it had the same spirit, but was applied differently each time. The look is very eclectic with a lot of layering, which plays off the layering in the collection. It’s punk, tough looking. I loved the richness of the gold against the toughness of the black. It’s an updated, modernized take on eyeliner.”

Yadim from Maybelline New York played off Marissa Webb’s “masculine with feminine” motif with an updated take on 1950’s glamour and a “metallic smoky khaki” eye as the focal point of the makeup look.
Dominique Samuel from Maybelline New York imagined the “power woman of the future” — sporty, active, vibrant and dynamic — for the SS16 Chromat show. Her skin is dewy and glowing from an intense workout, emphasizing a sense of athleticism with subtle femininity.
For the Victor Alfaro show, Pat McGrath painted on beautiful, graphic shapes, some winged some rectangular, all applied translucently and with her unrivaled originality. “We used shades of yellow, orange and white (reflecting the pops of color in the collection), eyebrows were not bleached but lightened, there was a touch of silver in the corners to add brightness. Lips were nude with balm and skin was translucent, fresh with a little bit of highlighting on the cheekbones.”
As always, Betsey Johnson had the crowd talking! Her show was nothing short of amazing with bright bold colors on both the clothing and used in the makeup looks.
