Slick and Straight Ponytail
Pull back hair cleanly and tightly into a high ponytail sitting at the crown of your head and flat-iron the ponytail. Use a ribbon or accented hair tie to add a little holiday fun to the look. Finish with a light-holding hairspray or shine spray. Try Cutler Specialist Shine Tattoo ($22.99).

Soft and Bouncy
Set your hair with hot rollers to create bounce and volume. After the rollers cool, take them out, loosely brush the set out and sweep your hair up into a high ponytail. Again, use a ribbon or accented hair tie for added holiday flair. For a little extra bounce, separate the ponytail into 3-4 sections, depending on thickness; tease each section at the base of the ponytail and spray with hairspray for hold. Try Redken Fashion Work 12 ($15.30) Finish the look by lightly brushing the sections together.
Modern Bouffant
Set hair on hot rollers; once rollers cool down remove them. Begin by backcombing medium-sized sections of hair from the nape working up the head until your whole head has been backcombed. Lightly rake your fingers through the sections merging the backcombing sections together. Sprinkle a little bit of Redken Powder Grip ($10.65) at the roots for airy texture.
Pull hair to center back with your fingers; loosely holding the end of your hair, tilt your head back (this will help get a smoother shape at the bottom of the nape.) Begin, twisting your hand inward towards the head creating a roll; tuck the ends of hair into the roll and secure with large bobbypins while still holding onto the roll. Finish with a holding hair spray (like Gwen Stefani; pictured above).

Veronica Lake Inspired Waves
Create a heavy side part from the high arch of the left eyebrow, all the way back to the crown of your head. Next, create three horizontal roller-sized sections and place your hot rollers in following the horizontal pattern moving across the head towards the right ear. Repeat on the smaller section on the left (opposite side) down to the left ear until you reach the back of the crown.
From the crown to the nape, take a center section and roll vertically; repeat on the right and left back sides. Let cool, remove rollers and with a flat brush lightly brush the hair out creating your Veronica Lake s-waves. Finish with a holding spray.
