The mood for Fall 2010 is for a strong confident woman. She can be avant-garde, tenacious or effortlessly chic. She enjoys wearing makeup and spends time creating a polished look. Smoky eyes are here to stay, but gold metallics make for a beautiful look too, all worn with neutral lip tones with mostly satiny texture. Burberry debuts its makeup collection and highlights a made-up natural look with an ode to its heritage: plaids, and the trench coat you can’t live without during the many gray moods of fall.
Here are NEW products I love so far. I’ll be back in touch with other trends like dark lips and nails, but for now, here are some of our must-have products:
Guerlain’s Lingerie De Peau, an invisible skin-fusion foundation, is the cornerstone of flawless skin this season:
If no other face base has yet appealed to you, this will change your attitude toward foundation. The product contains a mix of synthetic polymers and natural fibers that form an invisible mesh over skin, keeping it – and the pigment – stable with a demi-matte finish. It rolls on – like a dream – and its texture is so refined, light and airy that it really feels like a second skin. No color is visible on the face; the complexion is simply radiant and natural.

Amp up the volume in the eyeshadow department this season. From charcoal to metallic grays, deep plums, to smoldering khakis. Givenchy has made it easy with the new Prisme Eye Quad in six harmonies that carpet a variety of densities. The unifier, shadow and liner are satiny, while the highlighter is shinier. All quads are trend focused…try the Purple Show or Midnight Look for a smoky, glam look.
Available in August at www.sephora.com
Burberry Makeup has a stunning selection of neutral colors for eyes, cheeks and lips…just the right palette for a stormy dark season ahead. The eye shadows consist of smoky gray, taupe, and beige tones, all sheer, transparent and easy to wear. The eye shadows are buildable too, so you can create a subtle smoky eye. If you combine blush and bronzer, you’ll get a fresh glow to the cheeks and build a healthy complexion. The lipsticks are lightweight, creamy and luxurious; try one of the beautiful fall red shades which is the “pop” color in the collection. The ubiquitous Burberry plaid design is everywhere from the packaging to embossing on the product itself: it will look so chic on your makeup table.
