All eyes are on the tennis moves of 15-year-old Catherine Bellis, the youngest girl to win a match at the U.S. Open since 1996. What we can’t stop talking about: her Valentino-inspired ponytail created by Redken Creative Consultant Guido at Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Show!
REDKEN Diamond Oil Shampoo, Conditioner, Deep Facets Oil Enriched Intensive, Shatterproof Shine Oil Treatment
While this ponytail has been one of the most popular hairstyles since it hit the runway, we’re excited that Catherine finally brought the look to professional sports! We have the inside scoop from Guido on how to recreate this look for yourself, and the Redken products you need to make it look perfect (on or off the court!).
Step 1. Spray Redken pillow proof blow dry express primer on damp hair.
Step 2. Apply Redken guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam to damp hair.
Step 3. Blow-dry hair straight with natural bristle brush.
Step 4. Create a clean center part.
Step 5. Comb hair straight back creating slight lift at the crown.
Step 6. Gather hair into a low ponytail covering ears and secure with elastic.
Step 7. Place elastics every 2-3 inches down the ponytail.
Step 8. Pull hair in between each elastic to puff out the hair.
Step 9. Finish with Redken control addict 28 super strength finishing spray.
