I have been a hair editor for over 7 years and thought I had seen and heard it all! That is until I received Broo Moisturizing Craft Beer Shampoo and Conditioner and Broo Thickening Craft Beer Shampoo and Conditioner. I never thought I would see a craft beer hair product. I do remember the days when people would say to wash your hair with beer, but I never put much thought into it, nor was I ever brave enough to try it.

The first one I tried was Moisturizing craft beer shampoo and conditioner. The ingredients included: malted barley, hope flowers, shea butter, caffeine, and brooluxe. The ingredients all provide different benefits to your hair.

I was surprised to learn malted barley contained B vitamins, proteins, and minerals to nourish, repair, and protect hair. Brooluxe provides moisturize and is a more natural alternative than silicone. I used this for a few days and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was something different and I really liked it’s uniqueness and the great smell – a very natural scent due to the notes of lavender, ylang ylang and geranium. The product is very easy to use, you only have to remember to shake well. Pour, lather, rinse and repeat the same process with the conditioner.

Due to the winter weather, my hair has felt so dry! After using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair looked remarkably shiny and healthy. I was impressed with the results and would definitely recommend this to others suffering from dry, damaged hair.

The Thickening Craft Beer Shampoo and Conditioner has similar ingredients, but instead of shea butter, there is barley protein, which adds volume to hair. The smell was also delicate and citrusy with notes of orange, grapefruit and vanilla creme. I have very thick hair, so I was scared this might make my hair too thick, but I was pleasantly surprised that it did not. The result was more body, which in fact made my hair easier to style.
