The CEW Achiever Awards is by far one of the most inspiring events in the beauty industry. Every year, CEW honors successful women in the industry who have risen to executive positions at their respective companies in sales, marketing, and or product development.
What makes this event so inspiring is hearing their stories. None of them were overnight successes, they started out in entry level positions and climbed the ladder to success through hard work, ambition and sheer determination.
The beauty industry honored seven of its most accomplished women at its 40th annual Achiever Awards luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
The honorees, who were nominated by CEW’s Board of Governors and selected by a special Achiever Awards committee, are being recognized for their outstanding career achievements and leadership in the beauty industry. The Achiever Awards is one of CEW’s highest-attended events of the year, as it serves to celebrate the accomplishments and influence of female executives and inspire future leaders in the industry.
CEW presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Lynne Greene, Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. Greene is being recognized for her exceptional career, many contributions to the beauty industry and continuous support of CEW. She is only the fifth recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the history of CEW. Lynne Greene announced in September that she will be retiring in June 2016 after nearly 40 years at Estée Lauder.
The 2015 Achiever Award Honorees are:
- Lorraine Coyle, Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales, L’Oréal Paris
- Shannon Curtin
- Sandra Main, Global Brand President, La Mer
- Rita Mangan, Senior Vice President, Sales, Education & Retail Strategies, Shiseido Cosmetics America; and

In addition, Sylvie Ganter, Creator and Founder, Atelier Cologne received CEW’s Great Idea Award for Fragrance Innovation for creating Pure Perfumes inspired by the legendary Eau de Cologne that carved out a new olfactive family: the “cologne absolue”. The award is presented by International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.
CEW also honored LVMH with the Corporate Empowerment for Women Award for its commitment to the advancement of women within its organization. The program began with a keynote address delivered by Mary Dillon, CEO, ULTA Beauty.
“For the past 40 years the Achiever Awards have celebrated the exceptional achievements of powerful female leaders in beauty. We’re thrilled to recognize all that this year’s honorees have accomplished in their careers, and to inspire the next generation of leaders,” says CEW President, Carlotta Jacobson. “This year we are delighted to also recognize LVMH for developing programs and initiatives that aim to propel its female employees to top leadership positions within the organization.”
The Achiever Awards were held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, with a pre-event cocktail reception beginning at 11 a.m., followed by the program and luncheon at noon. To learn more about leadership development opportunities in the beauty industry, visit www.cew.org.
