MAC Cosmetics’ In The Groove collection is an array of products for the eyes, cheeks and lips: these are described by MAC as modern with Boho charm, on trend with kaleidoscopic complimentary color combinations. And that translates to a multi-faceted assortment of products driven by innovation, a luscious season with a nod to the latest catwalk looks. For me, what makes this collection so unique and appealing is the emphasis on mineralized face products. All of which are lightweight in application, but have a rich velvety finish and adhere well to the skin. The nine NEW Mineralize Eye Shadows (with a matte/satin, non-glittery finish!) and the return of four beloved Mineralize Skinfinish Powders turned my groove on.
Here are my three top favorite Mineralized Eye shadow trios.
At the height of the summer season I love to wear warm neutral tones on my eyes. I recommend the first two shadows for daytime.
Making It Easy satin red brown, pearly beige rose and satin dark beige look natural and pretty. I applied satin red brown and pearly beige rose to my lid and satin dark beige to my crease. The shades are extremely wearable, especially since the shimmer has been removed.
In The Groove has a beautiful palette as well. The satin green and coral look soft on the lid and the burgundy is a beautiful warm tone for the crease. They go well with this season’s military-inspired palette and earthy hues.
My night time favorite is Style Influencer: a trip containing satin silver, pearly deep blue and satin mauve shades. The satin silver popped on my eye lid without looking chalky. I applied the deep blue and satin mauve to the crease. I recommend using the Navy Stain Powerpoint Eye Pencil (also included in this collection) to line the top and bottom lid. The mauve and pearly deep blue are highly pigmented and combined with the navy liner resulted in a soft smoking hot sexy eye.
I have been a big fan of MAC’s Mineralized Skinfinish products for a long time. The colors are versatile – for all skin tones, and add just a hint of shimmer and a perfect finishing touch to your face. A subtle shimmer and glow on the cheek is such a chic look for summer. Stero Rose (a pinkish coral with a golden bronze sheen) is the most versatile shade and can be worn as a highlighter, blush or bronzer.
Definitely go to a MAC counter and work with one of the makeup artists to find the In The Groove products and shades that work best for your complexion. The mineralized products are a must-have and the matte shadows play perfectly with the collection’s creamsheen lipsticks and glasses. I’m so impressed with the smooth texture and great pigmentation of these eye trios. They will be comfortable to wear into fall on a hot Indian summer day.
