Now in 6 new shades, the extended color spectrum ranges from light to medium to beige, and on to caramel bronze. Semi-translucent and luxuriously light. Available in an SPF 35 cream and a go-anywhere SPF 30 solid cream compact.

Prep & Prime BB Cream SPF 35 available in Extra Light, Light, Light Plus, Medium, Medium Plus, Medium Dark, Dark, Dark Plus, Dark Deep ($30.00)
M·A·C does it again with their new BB creams! The MAC Prep+Prime Beauty Balm SPF 35 provides sheer, buildable coverage that dries to a semi-matte finish. Its nearly sheer beige tone works on an array of complexions, as it creamily re-texturizes the skin and then goes on to excel at being a face primer.
I don’t think BB creams should give off an entirely matte, in my opinion. I find that the drier the formula the harder it is to blend, therefore your skin might not look as “natural” as you hoped.
I tried Light (more yellow undertones) and Light Plus (a slightly darker hue with both yellow and neutral undertones). I can get away with wearing either, but I prefer the Light Plus to match my fading summer tan. It smells like sunscreen, but isn’t off-putting at all — you can only smell it if you put it up right to your nose.
MAC Prep+Prime Beauty Balm Compact SPF 30 ($30.00)
The sleek packaging of the MAC Prep+Prime Beauty Balm Compact SPF 30 holds the creamy alternative that mixes emollients and optical pearl pigments to even your skintone. I loved how this felt on my skin — light, dewy and hydrating.
Top to Bottom: Beauty Balm Compact in Light Plus, Beauty Balm in Light Plus and Light
Although it says it is a “cream” formula, it feels more like a luxurious primer that imparts both a glow and subtle color. I absolutely loved this and will keep it close by to even-out my complexion.
I only wish there was a bottom compartment to put my sponge — I keep the plastic seal over the cream for sanitary reasons. Feel free to use the sponge or your fingers for an even more natural-looking finish.
