I was intrigued by the ads in the magazines, encouraging readers to go and view longtime Lancôme model Daria Werbowy and the playfully mischievous Betty Boop get the star lash look by going to Lancome-USA.com. Of course, I went to watch it immediately as I remember also seeing this particular mascara in the “Hot Now” showcases at Sephora back in September. Now, this wonderfully playful mascara has hit the shelves at Lancôme counters nationwide a well as online at both Sephora.com and Lancome-USA.com.
The Hypnôse Star Mascara ($28.00) was inspired by the femininity of the Old Hollywood films of the 1930’s, and is encased in a sparkling sequined tube. I have been a fan of Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara ($26.00), and sampled this one from Sephora; it certainly lengthened my lashes and also gave them more volume.

I believe it is the dual-sided brush that makes it possible to coat every lash. It’s said that the brush builds intense volume at the lash line and finishes with length and a curl. The dual-sided brush allows the flat side to build volume and the round side to lengthen from root to tip. As you see in the photo, it DOES what is says! The first ever comic heroine’s lashes were always flirtatious and have come to exemplify the eternal youthful spirit of the Old Hollywood ingénue.

I am sold on this new mascara from Lancôme and am going to meet the uber-talented Michelle Phan tomorrow to learn how to create the look of the iconic comic heroine, as I shall learn how to pair it with Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner ($29.50) in Noir, Color Design Eye Shadow ($18.00) in All that Sparkles and L’Absolu Rouge ($29.50) in Absolute Rouge.
